Artificial Intelligence in my Life: 27.11.2020 from 17.30-19.00
What are your thoughts about the role of AI & technology in your life?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays an ever-growing role in our lives. It helps to determine which ads we see online, the films we watch and the products we buy. Every time we send a message, use a credit card or sync a fitbit, we are sharing personal information about our lives.
But what are the ethical and social consequences of AI technologies? Where does our information go and how is it being used?
The ADAPT Centre for Digital Content Technology is hosting an online Citizens’ Think-In to discuss these questions and more about the role of AI & Technology in our lives as part of START: European Researchers’ Night 2020 at Trinity and we’d like you to join us!
The 90 minute Citizens’ Think-In comprises:
- A short introductory presentation relating to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in society
- Small-group discussion of technology application scenarios, focusing on possible opportunities, impacts, risks and benefits of the emerging technology
- Report-out from each group with thoughts and recommendations
- Whole group reflection and deliberation
You don’t need to have any previous knowledge of AI – we will teach you all you need to know.
The Think-In takes place online on 27 November 2020 from 17.30 – 19.00 and is just one of many events in the START: Start Talking About Research Today programme.
This event is for anybody aged 18+.
